Frequently Asked Questions
  1. Why or how is this different from other memory courses or what is offered on line?
They are not the same..."apples and oranges." The MTI Workshop deals with the entire spectrum of human memory including the processing of visual and auditory stimuli into long-term memory. The 27 hours represents the cutting edge of scientific knowledge of the human brain and encompasses all areas of memory including aging, recovering lost memories, dramatically increasing reading speeds and listening retention, etc. There are no other courses like this offered, period. Others are primarily centered around a few very old "association" techniques and are mostly "stunt" based with little practical everyday or occupational application.
  2. How long does it take to see an improvement in memory, reading, etc.?
Improvement can be seen within the first day of the workshop, increasing substantially after that. The student doesn't "peak" by the Workshop's end but continues to improve dramatically with time and practice.
  3. What are the typical improvements seen in the average person who takes this training?
At a minimum, the student improves their memory abilities by a factor of ten by the workshop's end. At the same time, the average attendee will improve their ability to read by a factor of three and their ability to simply "listen" and retain what they hear by a factor of two. Results vary by student but there are many who will far exceed those "minimums."
  4. Will this training help those that have started to show some short-term memory loss?
Yes. Part of short-term memory loss is age related not disease related. Trainees who attend the workshops will discover significant improvements in both their long-term and short-term memory capabilities. Furthermore, the improvements will continue as the individual continues to employ the knowledge gained during the course.
  5. Who would benefit most from this training?
Those benefiting most are those for whom "memory" is an important function of their life. For example, those in sales needed to remember client's names, sales items, numbers, etc., will find their job made infinitely easier. Students in High School and especially College will benefit immensely. Those in occupations, avocations, or positions requiring memory, reading, or listening skills will benefit the most.
  6. If this product is as good as it sounds why has it taken until now to get started ?
It hasn't taken long to get started at all. The workshop as originally offered, continued on a highly successful basis through the 70s. It was part of a much larger management consulting effort by the course's developer, Dr. Warren Chaney. At the time, Dr. Chaney made the workshop available only to his clients (which included AT&T, NASA, St. Joseph Medical Centers, Celanese Chemical Corporation amongst some 200 others). Large client demand for presentation to families and certain employees necessitated a "public" course, which was also successfully offered upon occasion. Dr. Chaney sold his company upon entering the motion picture industry but retained all rights for this segment. It was only recently that the decision to organize and update the material for public consumption was made.
  7. Will the training help prepare my kids for their important scholastic testing such as the SATS, GMATS, GRE's etc. ?
More than they realize. Preparation for any scholastic test involves the learning of new and or additional materials. MTI's Mind Dynamics Workshop enables the student to multiply their learning by 3 - 10 times their present capability. In addition, their test taking skills will be multiplied because of their increased reading speed and retention rates. During the late 70s, a portion of Dr. Chaney's original workshop was taught successfully at several Universities for this very purpose.
  8. Besides the initial training, what type of "homework" is required to complete the training?
There is some homework for each evening of the course. The training workshop helps the student correct years of "bad brain habits" and puts them on the road for continual improvement. After training, the student may continue to learn and develop at his or her own pace. As with all things, the more effort that is put into learning, the more that will be achieved from it.
  9. Is this a one-time workshop or will I be expected to take refresher courses to obtain the expected results?
The initial workshop will benefit the attendee for a lifetime. Periodically, additional one-day workshops will be offered for the benefit of those having attended earlier who wish to have advanced training. Experience has shown that these workshops are highly desired and eagerly attended.
  10. Will this program help improve my IQ, or intelligence?
Scientists no longer believe in the "old" concept of a single measure of IQ or intelligence. Instead, numerous studies have shown that the human has at least 5 "intelligences" and each is capable of being expanded (this is but one of the areas covered in the MTI course). What MTI's Dynamic Mind Workshop does is to facilitate increased learning within various areas of the intelligence spectrum from creativity to motor skills. However, it should be pointed out that after completing the course and continuing to master the material, one would suddenly appear far more intelligent to their family, friends, and associates.
  11. How would this course help a 16 year old high school student who is an A student?
The MTI Mind Dynamics Course helps all students, irrespective of their grade point average or where one falls along the grade spectrum. Whether the student is an "A" or an "F" student, one can substantially improve their ability to remember, read, listen and retain material. In today's competitive market, all "A" students are not equal. They compete for jobs with other "A" students and any "edge" is significant. One major advantage for the "A" Student is that the "edge" will be considerable because of the student's starting position.
  12. How would this help a college student that is a business major, a law student, or a medical student?
In 1995, a major interscholastic survey asked the following question of graduating students, "What is the single most important skill that you wished you had as you progressed through college?" Nearly 63% of all respondents replied, "the ability to memorize. Other high response rates included, "reading faster" and "improving my listening skills." Specifically, a medical student "must" "memorize" longs lists of body functions, parts, systems and processes. An attorney must develop knowledge and recall of detailed case law. A business major must possess a wide range of detailed management, marketing, accounting and financial data along with reference material relating to current market conditions. No other workshop in the world can provide the kind of help to these students that MTI's Mind Dynamic's Course offers. It will change a student's life…for a lifetime.
  13. How would this help a Minister, Rabbi, Priest, Chaplin, or Sunday school teacher?
It is essential that those serving in Churches, Congregations, Sunday Schools, Temples or Synagogues have intimate Biblical knowledge. In addition to being able to recall scripture, biblical stories, etc., it is important that the "worker" possess a detailed understanding of history (how did we get the Bible), current Biblical marketing conditions, and world events. As with all things informational, this involves reading, listening, and memory - all of which are enhanced during the MTI Mind Dynamics' Workshop.
  14. What would this course do for a person who is a struggling C student, in either high school or college?
A student struggles at the "C" level for the same reason a "D" or "F" student may struggle. Motivation aside, the student is unable to "take in" and later "recall" what is being taught at either the high school or college levels. MTI's Mind Dynamics' Workshop totally enables a student to reorient their learning patterns and to succeed as never before.
  15. How could this course benefit a stay at home housewife?
Many forget that a "Stay at Home Housewife" is a profession in and of itself and one that historically has proven to be most valuable to society. MTI's Mind Dynamics' Workshop enables this professional to master the many "learning and educational" skills required of the job. Everything becomes more proficient and easier from the recall of family schedules to the handling of the family finances (Surveys have shown that nearly 80% of "Stay and Home Housewives" handle the family finance). Furthermore, the ability to read faster, to listen and recall more effectively, and to remember more easily, facilitates a mother's task in assisting her children in their schoolwork, at any level as well as providing a material benefit to her husband in his occupational efforts.
  16. How could this course help a "home schooled" child?
The same way it helps a "public school" child, only more so. The "home schooler" spends far more time reading and studying on their own than does the public school child. To this end, the MTI Mind Dynamics' Curriculum is ideally designed and suited. The child will be able to read faster, listen more effectively, and retain far more than they would have otherwise.
  17. What would this course provide for a professional speaker, trainer, or workshop leader?
The backbone of speaking, training, and any form of education is two fold. One is the possession of detailed knowledge of the subject and the second is the presentation of that material. For certain, the MTI trained speakers will be able to deliver their material using a minimum of notes. However, the "learning" goes much deeper than that. The MTI Mind Dynamics' Workshop not only teaches "how" to read and remember more, but also how the brain learns. The days of a speaker standing up and just speaking have already begun to fade. Unfortunately, most speakers fail to possess the knowledge of how we learn and therefore are unable to take advantage of this in their own personal educational settings. Mind Dynamics not only provides the attendee with a "way to learn and remember material" for recall upon presentation, but also a clear understanding of what works in presentations and what doesn't. Speaking skills get a professional so far but only so far. In today's competitive atmosphere it is important that the student be able to use the material presented, not just days but weeks and months after the presentation. This makes for great "word of mouth" marketing. Mind Dynamics furnishes just that sort of expertise.
  18. What would a professional like an engineer get from this course?
Engineering is a detailed-systems and process kind of profession. Comprehensive knowledge is required at graduation and for licensing of certain areas. It is equally vital that the engineer be able to "keep up in the field" as well. The only thing one can count on during this period of history is change. Being able to rapidly update one's self and to "remember" continual changes is vital. MTI's Mind Dynamics' Workshop provides the very tools enabling a professional to do just that.
  19. How long of a lecture could I listen to without taking notes and recall later?
Significant behavioral studies indicate that we lose nearly 60% of what we hear within the first few hours of having heard it. In 12 hours, the loss rises to 80%. Within 24 hours to a week, we retain less than 5% of what we've heard. Obviously, this varies a few percent up or down amongst individuals but remains high for everyone. What was your Sunday sermon's content a month ago? How about last week? MTI's Dynamic Workshop will enable you to double thier present listening "recall" ability. But that is only the beginning. As you continue to practice and employ what is taught, you will wonderfully discover that you are retaining more and more. Within a few months of continual practice, you should be able to listen to and recall the majority of a lecturer's content. And that is without taking nary a note. Imagine what one could do if they took notes.
  20. Do I have to do anything special to keep up or improve my reading, retention, and memory?
No. To maintain the dramatic increases in memory, reading speeds, etc., one need only continue to employ what they have learned.
  21. Does the Workshop discuss "blocks" to memory?
The Dynamic Mind Workshops not only "cover" blocks to memory but how to "handle" and "minimize" them. The training also deals with recovery of blocked memories and how to minimize those "Tip of the Tongue" memory losses that most experience as they age.
  22. What type of training do I need if I want to become an instructor?
There are two types of training required to become an "instructor." First, an instructor must learn and know the systems employed. Secondly, they must become accredited through MTI's accreditation process. The first will be done by attending the original workshop and through self-study. The later results from attending a MTI's "Train the Trainer" workshop where attendees learn how to teach others and receive the necessary training materials to do so.
  23. Should I expect to see continued improvement in reading, retention, and memory over time?
Yes. The majority of attendees are "overjoyed" at the benefits they receive during the initial workshop. However, for those that continue to apply what they have learned, the additional benefits and continued improvement far exceeds those initially achieved.
  24. Are there young and/or older age limits limiting those who can benefit from this course?
While there are no age limits as to who can benefit from the training, there is a minimum age of 13 to attend the workshop. A child must be taught differently than an adolescent or an adult. This is because their "brain" has not developed to the point that it can learn "as" an adult learns. However, special classes for younger children are being developed and will be taught at a later time.
